Sheffield City Region LEP welcomes visitors from UKTI
On Wednesday 14 March, Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (SCR LEP) welcomed visitors from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI).
The UKTI delegates were visiting the City Region to find out more about the opportunities available for economic growth and international investment.
The delegates represented different areas of industry including Creative, Digital & Media and ICT (ITEC); Business, Professional & Financial Services; Energy, Environment & Infrastructure and Advanced Engineering; and Life Sciences.
Neil Garner, Chair of the SCR LEP Healthcare Sector Group, accompanied the UKTI Life Sciences specialists on organised visits to two local businesses to help them to find out more about the healthcare sector in the Sheffield City Region.
Neil said, “The businesses we visited shared information on their activities, discussed plans for future trade growth and development into new and different markets.
“The delegates enjoyed their visit and it has given them a better understanding of the healthcare industry in the Sheffield City Region.”
SCR LEP, in partnership with local authorities from across the region, arranged a number of visits to key businesses in Sheffield from across a range of sectors. Businesses which were visited by delegates were Creative Space Management, The Tech Dept / Co-Lab partners, Learning Light, University of Sheffield Management School, Sky, Fripp Design, JRI Orthopaedics Ltd and Sheffield Precision Medical, DLA Piper, Capita, University of Sheffield and Boeing Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre and The Welding Institute.
