“The Sheffield City Region Enterprise Zone is now widely regarded as the jewel in the crown of UK Enterprise Zones and it was recently described by the Secretary of State as at the heart of national economic recovery.

“It is because our Zone is clearly focused on modern manufacturing and technology that it has the enviable reputation as the number 1 Enterprise Zone in the UK.”

The Sheffield City Region’s Enterprise Zone was recently recognised by the Financial Times fDi magazine as the number 1 in the UK for modern manufacturing and technology. Other speakers at the World Free Zone Convention, focusing on free and special economic zones delivering economic growth, will travel from Luxembourg, Lithuania, Dubai, Delhi, New York and Washington.

Enterprise Zone Project Manager, Michael Hellewell and Business Development Manager, Rachel Clark from the Sheffield City Region Executive Team presented to international delegates on the Sheffield City Region Enterprise Zone on Tuesday 11 December.

Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECA’s) are offered exclusively to modern manufacturing and technology businesses and give up-front tax relief for major capital investments.
