The LEP Network (the organisation which represents LEPs across the country) has confirmed that Lord Heseltine will be a key speaker at its Annual Conference on 18 April.

In October 2012, Lord Heseltine’s UK growth policy report, which recommended expanding the economic leadership role and funding on offer to LEPs, was broadly supported by the Sheffield City Region. Heseltine’s report endorsed the principle that private-public partnership is the best way to deliver economic growth.

This second annual LEP Network conference will bring together senior figures from government, civil servants, as well as representatives from LEPs and the wider economic community. Financial Secretary to the Treasury, Greg Clark MP, has also been confirmed as a key speaker at the event.

At last year’s event, LEP Chairman James Newman led a workshop on resourcing, the video footage from which is available on the Sheffield City Region website.
