LEP showcases logistics at Multimodal 2013
From 23 to 25 April, the Sheffield City Region LEP Inward Investment team and Business Doncaster will be showcasing the City Region’s thriving logistics offer at Multimodal, a leading freight transport and logistics exhibition. The exhibition typically attracts over 5,000 delegates and is held at the NEC in Birmingham.
David Grey MBE, Sheffield City Region LEP Board member said:
“Sheffield City Region is the logistics choice for market leaders such as Amazon, Next, DHL, Ikea and many others. This is because we are four-and-a-half hours HGV drive time to seventy-five percent of the UK and have excellent motorway links from junction 28 to 38 of the M1.
“The runway at Doncaster Sheffield Airport is one of the longest in the North of the UK, making it ideal for cargo. In addition, we have a workforce skilled in logistics and innovative programmes like the recently launched Next Graduate Logistics scheme show Business Doncaster’s commitment to the sector.
“These are the messages the Sheffield City Region Inward Investment team and Business Doncaster will be spreading to delegates.”
Sheffield City Region is home to some of the largest distribution operations in the country including the HQ and national distribution of Sports Direct at Brook Park, Shirebrook in Bolsover. South Yorkshire International Trade Centre will also be exhibiting at Multimodal 2013.
