Yorkshire Post reports economy rebalancing
An Exclusive article in the Yorkshire Post today (13 May 2013) reveals that an internal Government report shows Yorkshire to have the biggest increase in the proportion of people working in private sector jobs, outpacing even the South East.
LEP Chairman James Newman, is quoted in the article, saying:
“The LEP aims to rebalance the Sheffield City Region economy by stimulating growth and creating sustainable employment.
“I am pleased to see that the Government’s latest private sector employment statistics show Yorkshire leading the change in the North.
“Home to 1.8 million people, 55,000 businesses and with an economic output of £25 billion, I believe that the Sheffield City Region has a pivotal part to play in rebalancing the nation’s economy.
“The City Region continues to build strength as an international trading base and is very attractive to global investors.”
