Consultation closes for initial list of major development projects
The Local Transport Body’s (LTB) public consultation on its initial list of major development projects has now drawn to a close.
The public consultation asked the public for opinions on a list of 19 schemes which could boost the Sheffield City Region’s economy by seven billion pounds over the next decade.
The consultation ran for a little over six weeks – from Thursday 1 August to Sunday 15 September 2013.
The Local Transport Body (LTB) received a total of ten responses, which included independent submissions from residents in addition to responses submitted on behalf of organisations.
The initial prioritised scheme list will be further considered by the Local Transport Body on Thursday 22 October.
The schemes can be viewed here: Scheme List
The LTB’s analysis of the schemes shows that they have the potential to boost the Sheffield City Region’s economic output by over 20 per cent and create almost 4,500 sustainable new jobs.
The online consultation asked residents and businesses for their views on the list, which covers schemes which will impact on jobs and economic growth in Barnsley, Bassetlaw, Bolsover, Chesterfield, Derbyshire Dales, Doncaster, North East Derbyshire, Rotherham and Sheffield.
