EU consultation event proves very popular
On Monday 9 September, the LEP hosted an EU Investment Strategy consultation event at the New York Stadium in Rotherham.
The event was designed to help the LEP to decide how to prioritise about £175m of European funds, to be invested in the Sheffield City Region between 2014 and 2020.
This free event proved to be very popular, attracting over 70 business leaders and partner organisations, all keen to have their say on where future funds will have the best impact for the City Region.
Rotherham Council Chief Executive, Martin Kimber, and LEP Chairman, James Newman both presented at the event.
The LEP’s EU investment consultant is now working through the evidence collected at the event to ensure that the Sheffield City Region’s strategies reflect the views of individuals, businesses and organisations that have an interest in EU Funds.
The LEP’s EU work continues to move forward very quickly, and the LEP now has under a month to submit the first draft of its EU Investment Strategy to Government – the deadline is 7th October.
