LEP Chief Executive Ben Still appears on page 1 of the Yorkshire Post today in an article about the high speed rail hybrid bill.

The article comes as legislation allowing the government to build a high-speed rail line between London and Birmingham will go before Parliament.

Ben’s quote is taken from a Keolis report which is also due to be published today.

Ben said,

“It is not about access to the capital, but access to jobs and markets in surrounding cities.

“The high speed line will more than halve journey times to Leeds, Nottingham and Birmingham and Sheffield.

“It will also release rail capacity to develop town-to-town links, which complement rather than compete against it.”
