International recognition for Doncaster technology star
A hi-tech Doncaster firm has been highlighted in a global technology awards ceremony.
In January 2014 i-Education were runner up in the 2014 BETT awards in the ‘Secondary Digital Content’ category. BETT is the world’s leading learning technology event which took place in London earlier this month.
i-Education produces the ‘I am learning’ software which is used by schools in Doncaster and around the world. i-Education recently won a contract to supply ‘I am learning’ to all schools in Malaysia.
Managing director, Michael Wilkinson, said:
“I am Learning: Success launched in Malaysia last year to provide our world class Maths and English assessment and gap analysis tools to families and schools in Malaysia.
“Strategic partnerships are vital whatever you’re doing, but in export, even more so.
“We’ve partnered with a company (Frog) that has local knowledge, an existing customer base and a vested interest in our success.
“It allows you to reach customers much more cost effectively – it’s a warm audience because they know your partner. It would be extremely difficult for us to do this on our own.”
Doncaster Council is supporting i-Education in its search for a new apprentice. i-Education is looking for an apprentice with some experience of computer programming to join its team based at First Point, off White Rose Way. For more information call the Business Doncaster team on 01302 73 55 55.
Ros Jones, Mayor of Doncaster, said:
“Doncaster Council has supported i-Education for a number of years through its Business Doncaster team with marketing and HR support.
“Jobs and growth are top priorities for me and I am delighted to see this successful local firm taking on an apprentice.
“Well done to the i-Education for coming runner-up in the BETT awards. Considering that this category was open anyone in the world selling content into secondary schools this is a huge achievement to be proud of.”
