Business leaders urged to take part in important survey
Local business leaders in the Sheffield City Region are being urged to take part in the British Chambers Quarterly Economic Survey (QES).
The Chambers survey in the Sheffield City Region is jointly coordinated by Doncaster, Sheffield and Barnsley & Rotherham Chambers of Commerce. The results from the Sheffield City Region make a major contribution to the British Chambers of Commerce’s national survey.
The aim of the QES is to give the Chambers a snapshot of the local economy and to understand the issues facing local businesses.
The QES is Britain’s biggest and longest running private sector business survey and receives in excess of 7,000 responses annually, across the UK.
The QES is the first economic indicator of the quarter, published in advance of official figures and other private surveys, and it consistently mirrors trends in official data. For this reason the survey is closely watched by policymakers such as the Treasury, the Bank of England, the Office of Budget Responsibility, the EU Commission and the IMF.
Simon Dishman, Doncaster Chamber Policy and Information Officer said:
“The QES is a clear example of how being part of a local Chamber of Commerce means you’re part of something bigger, together we are the economy.”
