Shout about SCR’s successes at MIPIM
Are you part of a business which would like to see more investment coming into Sheffield City Region? And would you like to shout about the successes of our region to the world?
If so, we want to hear from you.
This year, Sheffield City Region took its biggest ever delegation of private and public sector representatives to MIPIM, the annual real estate event that takes place in Cannes, France. And next year, we want to take even more people along.
MIPIM is where business deals get done, and where city region leaders and businesses can meet thousands of potential investors in the space of just a few days.
Next year’s event runs from Tuesday 13 March to Friday 16 March 2018, and is set to welcome more than 24,000 participants from 100 countries to the French Riviera.
Sir Nigel Knowles, chairman of the Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), said: “Sheffield City Region is a partnership that has already delivered. We have proved that we get things done. And now we’re asking organisations from the public and private sectors if they want to join us in what we hope will be our largest ever delegation to MIPIM.
“By working together locally on international promotion, on skills, business support and major infrastructure planning, we can secure more investment from huge international names, such as Boeing and McLaren. At MIPIM, we’ll come together to promote the region and hopefully secure investment in some landmark projects.
“Sheffield City Region has a unique role to help create new businesses, support the growth of existing ones, and inspire and attract foreign ones to come to the region.
“In doing so, these companies will create new jobs, which will improve regional prosperity. This can then improve the welfare of residents, enhance vibrant communities and enable businesses to expand, grow and recruit more staff. Join us at MIPIM to shout about Sheffield City Region to the world.”
For the first time last year, there was a central Government presence at MIPIM. Led by the Department for International Trade (DIT), the pavilion was also supported by departments including Communities and Local Government (DCLG), Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the Homes and Communities Agency and HM Treasury.
This year, the Government will be attending again, with Ministers, senior government officials and private sector investors, as well as trade delegations from key target markets.
Sheffield City Region’s delegation will include representatives from the public and private sectors and will focus on promoting residential, commercial, retail and leisure investment opportunities.
A call has now gone out for anyone who is interested in joining the delegation to get in touch.
Iain Thomson, Associate Director for Partnerships and Communications at Harworth PLC, said: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring Sheffield City Region at MIPIM for the fifth year running.
“Their profile with an international audience has increased immeasurably since 2014 and we look forward to promoting our key residential and commercial developments with them, including Waverley as the company’s flagship scheme.
“Land and property-related businesses in the region should not underestimate just how important MIPIM is in establishing and refining potential deals and cultivating new relationships.
“Being part of a wider delegation helps this process and we recommend others join us in sponsoring the region to promote its assets and expertise.”
A bespoke flight has been arranged from Doncaster Sheffield Airport (DSA) direct to MIPIM 2018 with free parking and fast track check-in, for £355 inclusive of all taxes.
