On Friday 4 May 2018, the Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield Combined Authority (known as the Sheffield City Region Mayoral Combined Authority) elected a Mayor for the first time.

The term of office for the Mayor is four years. The next election will take place in 2022.

Dan Jarvis was elected as the first Mayor of the Sheffield City Region by voters from the districts of Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield in May 2018.

  • Turnout: 260,260
  • Turnout %: 25.82%

Turnout by District:

  • Barnsley: 45,366 (24.99%)
  • Doncaster: 44,774 (20.05%)
  • Rotherham: 41,770 (21.26%)
  • Sheffield: 128,350 (31.56%)
