Questions

How can I check if I am registered to vote?

Every local authority holds and manages the electoral register for their own area. You will need to contact your local electoral services office to see if you are registered to vote in the area where you live. The electoral roll cannot be searched online. You can find the contact details for your local electoral services office in the ‘Contacts’ section below

Am I eligible to vote in the Mayoral Election?

Voting will be open to individuals who are registered to vote in the boroughs of Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield. To be eligible to vote you must also be aged 18 years or above on 3 May 2018 (Polling Day) and must either be a British, Irish or qualifying Commonwealth citizen or a citizen of the Republic of Ireland or a European Union (EU) member state. Further information on who is not eligible to vote can be found here

Where is my polling station and when will I be able to vote?

The location of your polling station will be printed on the poll card that is delivered to you by post before Polling Day. You can also find out your polling station by contacting your local electoral services office. Polling stations will be open between 7am and 10pm on 3 May 2018.

How do I request information about the Mayoral Election in another format?

The Candidate Information Booklet on the Mayoral Election and the Mayoral candidates has been delivered by post to every elector in Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield. The booklet is also available as a downloadable document: SCR Mayoral Information Booklet.
