Sheffield City Region priorities for improving skills facilities

Sheffield City Region as part of the funding deal with government has a skills capital fund.

The focus for investment of this fund is to invest in state-of-the-art training facilities and equipment which will demonstrably contribute to the economic growth of the SCR; ensuring the City Region has the capacity and capability to meet future labour market and business requirements.

We are striving to ensure businesses in the SCR will have greater access to the training they require to improve their performance, training delivered actively supports job growth and new businesses starting up, and that we achieve a reduction in unemployed, progression and skills development for those in work and young people who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training).

Applications for funding

We have a city region Skills Capital Prospectus which details the application process and provides further detail on the submission process.

The first stage of the process is for Scheme Promoters to submit a project mandate. This short submission will detail the strategic intent of the project and will be assessed against the investment priorities and economic outcomes outlined as priorities for the SCR.

The Prospectus and Mandate documentation is available to download below.
