LEP Board Recruitment

Our strong private-public partnership is helping drive economic growth across the Sheffield City Region.  To shape our economic strategy and make sure we keep a laser-like focus on delivery, we need a dynamic, bold and motivated business person to join other senior business leaders, the Mayor and council Leaders on the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Board.

With this in mind, we are keen to hear from outstanding individuals who are capable of leading the LEP Board in setting the strategic direction for economic growth across the Sheffield City Region.  We have one vacancy on the LEP Board:

LEP VICE CHAIR

£ Unremunerated – reasonable expenses will be reimbursed

Term of Appointment: 3 years

Anticipated time commitment: 4 to 5 days per month

The role of the Vice Chairs is to support the Chair in their duties representing the SCR LEP and deputising when necessary.  As a Vice Chair you will act as an ambassador and will champion projects regionally and nationally.  You’ll support the engagement of the private sector, the SCR Mayor, and primarily the nine local authorities in our region.  Your role is to work closely with the Chair of SCR LEP, the Vice Chair of SCR LEP and the SCR Chief Executive to ensure high performance levels.  Your role will be to foster the development of positive relationships amongst the Board and ensure the LEP is transparent and effective.

You’ll be an experienced Board member who will know the requirements of good Board governance.  You’ll have some affinity with the region and a passion for our work in the development of the economy, jobs and innovation.

We are committed to creating and operating a collaborative and inclusive LEP Board that reflects the diversity of the City Region.  We welcome applications from all sections of the community and will assess all applications on merit in terms of expertise, industry knowledge, geography, sectors and business size.  We ensure that applicants are not treated differently or less favourably, on the basis of gender, race, disability, religion or belief, sexual orientation or age.
