The key towns and core city of the Sheffield City Region are undergoing a private sector led urban renaissance. The Sheffield City Region uses its available capital funding to help unlock private sector investment including transport connectivity.
This project is currently in development. The Combined Authority will consider the proposal through its usual project assurance framework to make sure that any investment unlocks economic growth and contributes to the Sheffield City Region’s ambitions to create 70,000 additional jobs, build 7,000 homes a year and create £3.1bn of additional GVA.
This Doncaster scheme (phase 3) aims to incorporate commercial development within the station and St Sepulchre Gate area. The project links closely with Doncaster town centre’s masterplan.
This project includes a contribution from the Government’s Local Growth Fund resources which is part of the Government’s continued investment in the Northern Powerhouse.
The investment in phases 1-3 is planning to deliver 2034 jobs.
