The key towns and core city of the Sheffield City Region are undergoing a private sector led urban renaissance. The Sheffield City Region uses its available capital funding to help unlock private sector investment including transport connectivity.
This project is currently in development. The Combined Authority will consider the proposal through its usual project assurance framework to make sure that any investment unlocks economic growth and contributes to the Sheffield City Region’s ambitions to create 70,000 additional jobs, build 7,000 homes a year and create £3.1bn of additional GVA. If approved this “”inner ring road”” project will help deliver transport infrastructure improvements to unlock further economic growth in Sheffield City Centre.
This project includes a contribution from the Government’s Local Growth Fund resources which is part of the Government’s continued investment in the Northern Powerhouse.
