M1 Junction 37 – Economic Growth Corridor (Claycliffe)

Investing in infrastructure, including highways, is a key part of our efforts to unlock economic growth in the Sheffield City Region.

This project is currently in development. The Combined Authority will consider the proposal through its usual project assurance framework to make sure that any investment unlocks economic growth and contributes to the Sheffield City Region’s ambitions to create 70,000 additional jobs, build 7,000 homes a year and create £3.1bn of additional GVA.

This project will deliver a significant mixed use development on 122 ha of land, comprising 43 hectares of employment land and 1,700 new homes.

This project includes a contribution from the Government’s Local Growth Fund resources which is part of the Government’s continued investment in the Northern Powerhouse.

Requested SCR LGF allocation: £11,808,000
Total project cost: £293,335,542
