The key towns and core city of the Sheffield City Region are undergoing a private sector led urban renaissance. The Sheffield City Region uses its available capital funding to help unlock private sector investment, including transport connectivity.
The Peak Resort project, close to the Peak District National Park, will be a year-round tourist, leisure and education destination. It will encourage higher value visits to the Peak District by providing a range of accommodation, plus all-weather activities. LGF funding is facilitating initial site infrastructure works, including new access roundabout, new access, footpath and bridleway diversions and a secure boundary.
This project, which is still in delivery, includes a contribution from the Government’s Local Growth Fund resources which is part of the Government’s continued investment in the Northern Powerhouse.
This investment is expected to deliver 406 jobs.
SCR LGF allocation: £2,849,991
Total project cost: £83,850,000
