Investing in infrastructure, including highways is a key part of our efforts to unlock economic growth in the Sheffield City Region.

This project is currently in development. The Combined Authority will consider the proposal through its usual project assurance framework to make sure that any investment unlocks economic growth and contributes to the Sheffield City Region’s ambitions to create 70,000 additional jobs, build 7,000 homes a year and create £3.1bn of additional GVA.

This project will convert the existing dual two lane carriageway of the A630 between the Catcliffe Interchange and the M1 Motorway at Junction 33 into three lanes. Improvements will also be made to the Junction 33, specifically in relation to the motorway roundabout.

This project, which is currently in development, includes a contribution from the Government’s Local Growth Fund resources which is part of the Government’s continued investment in the Northern Powerhouse.
