Skills Capital Funding

Sheffield City Region Local Growth Fund

SCR priorities for skills capital spend , outlined in the SCR Local Growth Fund – Skills Capital Funding prospectus, align firmly with the SCR Strategic Economic Plan (SEP). The focus for investment is to invest in state-of-the-art training facilities and equipment which will demonstrably contribute to the economic growth of the SCR; ensuring the City Region has the capacity and capability to meet future labour market and business requirements. We are striving to ensure businesses in the SCR will have greater access to the training they require to improve their performance, training delivered actively supports job growth and new businesses starting up, and that we achieve a reduction in unemployed, progression and skills development for those in work and young people who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training).

The SCR priorities and application process will differ from those in other City Regions and from those which were previously deployed by the SFA as part of the delivery of the national Further Education (FE) capital strategy. Please carefully read the SCR Skills Capital Prospectus which details the application process and provides further detail on the submission process.

The first stage of the process is for Scheme Promotors to submit a project mandate. This short submission will detail the strategic intent of the project and will be assessed against the investment priorities and economic outcomes outlined as priorities for the SCR. The deadline for receipt of the Mandate document is Friday 11th September, instructions for submission are in the prospectus.

The Prospectus and Mandate documentation is available to download below.
